New Fairfield Town Hall Closed to the public

In an effort to help curb the spread of the coronavirus and keep the residents healthy, New Fairfield has decided to close Town Hall to the public starting Monday March 16th. The situation will be evaluated from week and week and Town Hall will re-open when it is appropriate to do so, In the meantime residents are urged to use the Town Website for information or questions regarding Town operations. There will be employees in the building to answer any questions by phone or email.

The Town posted the following on their facebook page yesterday afternoon:

Effective Monday, March 16, Town Hall will be closed to the public. This decision has not been made lightly. I know that this is an inconvenience for our residents, but social distancing is our best chance for slowing the spread of the corona virus and protecting our vulnerable populations. The Town website, www.newfairfield.org, provides information regarding all Town functions, ordinances, programs and regulations. You may also apply for land use permits, and Drop Off Center Permits, register for Park and Rec Programs and pay your taxes online. Employees will be answering phone calls and responding to e-mails. If you have an urgent need, please call the appropriate department and we will do our best to accommodate your request. Further, if you are concerned about attending public Board and Commission meetings, I would encourage you to e-mail your comments and questions to Board Chairmen and watch televised meetings on Community Television channel 194. With the advice of the Director of Health, I will be evaluating town building closures weekly and will reopen our buildings as soon as it is prudent to do so.
