The Sophia Natural Health Center in Brookfield, Ct. Director announces updates to their policies and procedures for protecting their patients against the Coronavirus (COVID-19) . He outlined those procedures in press release earlier today:
“At present, we are still open and servicing our patients. Quite frankly, it is times like these when people need
support and relief. However, we are taking further precautions here at the clinic.
What we are doing now:
1. Global Office Disinfection at a minimum of 3 times per day.
2. Increased Room Disinfection. We have removed sheets and pillow cases to
make sure we are wiping down every treatment table after every treatment. We
continue to wipe down surfaces within the room and I have both Thavy and Melanie
working hard at this.
3. Room and Schedule Spacing. We are spreading out our schedule so that there are
fewer persons in the office at one time. This also gives us the opportunity to stagger the
rooms when possible and alternate occupants. I think this is a good system.
4. I instituted Precautionary Clinic Rules regarding exposure and this is posted OUTSIDE
the clinic door to prevent anyone who has been possibly exposed from coming into the
clinic
5. Dr Eli, our new Naturopathic Doctor has chosen to self isolate in NY State where he
lives. He will be doing all consults on testing, nutrition, etc., by phone.
6. You will be hearing from our Doctors! We are going to do random wellness checks on
our patients by calling you, checking in, seeing how you are doing and if we can provide
any advice, supplements, etc. Maybe even just a re-assuring voice.
7. Virtual Classes and Lectures! This week I am looking at how I can teach to you while
in your home. Based on my experience with the Zoom platform, I am going to try and
teach Chi Kung/ Tai Chi, deliver lectures and whatever else you may be interested so
KEEP POSTED.
8. I have briefed the staff to STAY HEALTHY AND ISOLATE AFTER WORK. So they
have been heeding this advice, and are staying healthy through our Immune Boost
Protocol, Acupuncture and Moxibustion. In fact, Dr Chris just wrote a great blog
regarding the immune enhancement research on acupuncture and moxibustion. You can
find it at our website at www.inm.center
I still recommend the following prevention:
Vit D 5000 IU per day 1
Zinc Supreme 1 cap per day(unless deficient)** 2
Vit C Biofizz- 1/8 tsp/ day (unless sick) 3
Optional: Burn Moxa at Acupoint ST36/CV 14 45
**If you are unclear of your Zinc status, take the non-invasive Zinc Tally Test (offered at our
office). After the results we will suggest a dosage.
If we are asked to close or feel that it would be in everyone’s best interest, we will let you know
immediately.
Please contact us with any questions at 203-740-9300.”
All the best,
Dr Kenneth Hoffman, DACM. L.Ac
Medical Director
