Bedford native Victoria Lily Shaffer, making a name for herself in the world of animal advocacy, will return to her high school alma mater, The Harvey School, next month to share her experiences and expertise on animal rescue and puppy care and to discuss her recently released first book, "Pup Culture: Stories Tips, and the Importance of Adopting a Dog."
The 28-year-old Shaffer, whose book offers a collection of adoption and fostering stories, creative crafts and at-home recipes, checklists, and inspiring stories, has thousands of pet-loving followers of her YouTube and Instagram broadcasts and serves as the VP of Creative Development for Oso Studios in Los Angeles, the city where she now resides with her three dogs.
A staunch advocate for animal rescue and a young woman with an effervescent personality, the first-time author will be available following her presentation to autograph her book, which one reviewer called “a fun-filled and joyous ode to man's best friend.” It features contributions from several celebrated dog-lovers, including Glenn Close, David Letterman, Dan Levy, Vanessa Williams, and Tony Bennett. The foreword of the book was written by her father, Paul Shaffer, the renowned musician, composer, musical director, and bandleader.
