Ride “The Husking Bee” Pumpkin Patch Train

It’s the Fall harvest season so what better way to celebrate and welcome in the cooler weather than with a short 20-minute round trip ride on a vintage train to the Danbury Railway Museum’s Pumpkin Patch.  This popular annual family fund-raising event will take place on four weekends, October 7-8, 14-15, 21-22, and 28-29 beginning at 10:00 AM at the museum, with trains departing at 11:00 AM, 12 noon, 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM, and 3:00 PM  On Saturday evenings, an additional twilight train will depart at 6:00 PM with a special activities at the patch.  Also, the 11:00 trains on Saturdays will feature our popular Storytime Express.  See the web site at https://www.danburyrail.org/pumpkin for details on these new additions and for the various ticketing options. In all cases, kids under 2 years old are free.

Ride "The Husking Bee" Pumpkin Patch train through the historic railyard in a 1920's passenger coach, pulled by a vintage ALCo RS-1 diesel-electric locomotive (or other vintage locomotive, subject to availability) to the museum’s pumpkin patch where everyone can select a free pumpkin and enjoy some free cider & cookies.  There are numerous photo ops and even a vintage tractor!  Back due to its popularity last year is the “haunted caboose;” visit it if you dare!  Of course, the exhibits, artifacts, and multiple operating model train layouts inside the restored over 100-year old Danbury station will be open for your education and entertainment.
