New Milford Mayor Pete Bass Town Budget Update

Last night, Tuesday, February 15, New Milford Mayor Pete Bass presented to the Town Council and Board of Finance this year's Municipal and Board of Education Budgets for their review. Bass explains, "If approved, the total Budget (both Town and Board of Education) would result in a 1.70% increase. On the Town Side, we have been flat for the past 2 years but costs such as gasoline, health insurance, pension, fully opened library, debt service are some of the drivers for the Town side increase."

The first joint meeting of the Town Council and Board of Finance is next Tuesday evening, February 22 in the E Paul Martin room. For those that cannot make the meetings in person, you can view via live stream on Facebook.

Bass says the good news is we had about 80,000,000 in Grand list growth, our joining the health district will save approximately 98,000 in costs. "We continue to invest in our infrastructure, manpower and services for our residents and business community. I will provide updates as we go through the Budget process."
