Art Returns To The New Milford Green on July 29!

After nearly a ten-year hiatus, the New Milford Arts Festival is returning to the New Milford Green on Saturday, July 29th.

All types of creative and performing arts will take over the Green from 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The Festival will be capped by an evening concert at 7:30 p.m. featuring the unique song stylings of the Red Hots, a popular local group that puts its own twist on blues, jazz, ragtime, and rockabilly. The entire event is free and will have activities and art for all ages.

More than four dozen artists and artisans will be exhibiting and selling paintings, sculpture,  pottery, photography, and jewelry. Their work will be available for sale. Professional musicians and students from local dance, theater, and music groups will be performing on a stage near New Milford’s historic bandstand. Performers include Thorne Academy of Irish Dance, Studio D, New Milford Theatre’s TheatreKids, FineLine Theatre Arts, John Marshall’s Terra Coda, and a jazz band of recent New Milford High graduates, Big Zimmitti and the Swing Kings. The Village Center for the Arts will have an open house.

The Festival is sponsored by the New Milford Commission on the Arts. You can preview the participating artists and artisans on the  Commission’s website (https://artsnewmilford.org)/. They are also featured on the Commission’s Facebook page and Instagram (@artwalknewmilford) pages.

Be sure to stop by to see some of your favorite local artists and watch our talented students for a day of fun on the Green.
