Mardi Bra Drive to Help Those In Need to Take Place March 2nd - 17th

The Undies Project, will hold its annual bra drive, called Mardi “Bra”, to coincide with Mardi Gras, to collect donations of new and gently used bras.  The drive will take place in New Canaan, Darien, Greenwich and Westport.

The mission of The Undies Project is to provide new underwear to men, women and children in need to improve their lives.

Underwear is the most under-donated, and most needed, item of clothing that many of us take for granted. No one should be deprived of the simple, daily necessity of clean underwear.  Hygiene and physical comfort are only a part of this basic human need. New, clean underwear also provides dignity and self esteem.

The Undies Project is a register 501(c)(3) public charity that was started in 2015 by Laura Delaflor and Lucy Langley to fulfill this need.

For many underwear is a necessity, not a luxury and for those less fortunate who are on low incomes a bra is a big expense.  All sizes of bras are needed, but in particular, sizes 34-38.

In New Canaan bra donations can be made Saturday, March 2ndto Sunday, March 17that the following participating local businesses: Caren Forbes, 111 Main St; Pennyweights, 108 Elm St; Salon Kiklo, 126 Main St; Sara Campbell, 143 Elm St; Soleil Toile, 44 Elm St and Wave, 107 Main St.

Sara Campbell is also offering a 15% discount with any bra donation, on the purchase of one item at their New Canaan store on Saturday, March 9th.

The Undies Project currently serves 22 agencies that help those in need.  All donations received will be distributed to these agencies.
