Exchange Club of New Canaan Foundation Donates over $200,000 to Local Organizations

The Exchange Club of New Canaan Foundation has announced the recent completion of their annual grants and donations process. Through this process, in addition to other grants made during the past 12 months, the Exchange Club of New Canaan has given over $200,000 to 28 not-for-profit organizations in New Canaan and nearby communities in Fairfield County over the past year.

The grant recipients included organizations that are focused on the Exchange Club’s four pillars of service: the awareness and prevention of child abuse, community service, youth programs and Americanism.

Jim Murray, the Club’s Grants and Donations Chair this year, announced the successful completion of this year’s efforts. Over the past year, the Exchange Club’s fund raising exceeded expectations, which allowed the Club to make a record level of grants in an environment in which COVID issues increased the funding needed by many organizations. Jim thanked the 22 Club members who participated on the Grants and
Donations Committee for their careful and thorough review of all of the grant applications.

The annual Christmas tree lot run by the Exchange Club’s 135 Members was a prime source of funds the grants, as it has been for over 50 years. The Exchange Club extended its thanks to the many members of the community who have supported the Club’s fund raising through their patronage of the Christmas tree lot this year.
