New Canaan Nonprofit ARPA Funding Requests

Non-Profits that were negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic may be getting some extra help thanks to a unique partnership between the Town of New Canaan and the New Canaan Community Foundation.

Over the next few months, the New Canaan Community Foundation (NCCF) will work alongside the Town of New Canaan to advise the distribution of a portion of the American Rescue Plan Act Funds (ARPA). The Town of New Canaan expects to receive approximately $6 million in ARPA funds that can be used for government spending as well as toward local economic development and to support local non-profit agencies and local businesses.

The Town of New Canaan is seeking proposals (click here) for program and project funding that meet the eligibility requirements of the ARPA funds and to support the non-profits serving the New Canaan community.  All requests should be specifically related to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The submission deadline to the New Canaan Community Foundation is January 15, 2022.

“Many local non-profits were directly impacted by the pandemic and they may need financial assistance to be able to serve our community with important services” said Kevin Moynihan, First Selectman of the Town of New Canaan.
