The NEW New Canaan Library Chair Project

The Campaign for the NEW New Canaan Library is excited to announce the launch of THE CHAIR PROJECT, a unique opportunity to support the Library’s Capital Campaign by naming a chair in the new Jim and Dede Bartlett Auditorium.

THE CHAIR PROJECT intends to build excitement in the community around the great programming that we can expect in the new Library.

To highlight the vast potential for new programs in the Auditorium, we’ve asked nine New Canaan-based artists, authors, architects, chefs, photographers, musicians, and students to be photographed posing with the Series 7, a mid-century modern replica of the famous chair designed by Arne Jacobsen that will be used throughout the new Auditorium space. We are so grateful to our amazing subjects who were selected to represent just some of the many disciplines and subjects that will be explored in our exciting new home.

For a new $1,000 Capital Campaign gift, donors may have their family name or that of a loved one or favorite organization laser-cut onto the back of one of these iconic chairs which are being manufactured by Design Within Reach/MillerKnoll exclusively for our Library project.
There are only 325 chairs available, and all inscription requests must be completed before May 20th. Stop into the Library soon to see a sample engraved chair and all the wonderful photos on display.
