Stamford Senior Center's Lives Blossom Fundraiser on May 4

The Stamford Senior Center invites you to attend it's annual ‘Lives Blossom’ spring gala on Thursday, May 4^th  from 6:00 – 8:30pm at the Italian Center of Stamford. The event raises critical funds for this local nonprofit organization that is a home away from home for hundreds of older adults who attend the Center to exercise their mind and body and stay connected.

The evening will feature hors d'oeuvres, open bar, and a silent auction, and will attract 200 of the area's most philanthropic community and business leaders. Tickets are on sale now for this beloved tradition that supports the Stamford Senior Center’s wide array of active and engaging programming. The evening will honor three dedicated Stamford Senior Center volunteers, Rouja Brzozowski, Stu Madison and Peter Ebstein. This extraordinary trio have donated their time and expertise for the past seven years, helping their peers with technology needs and helping them to stay connected and active through the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. 

After a long career in the corporate world in technical, management and consulting positions at IBM and Chase Manhattan Bank, Rouja Brzozowski co-founded a firm and was the architect of competency models that are now used by many large corporations. She continues to work as an architect and developer of new and enhanced models.

With a 50+ year career in computers that began as a technical writer and computer programmer at Bell Labs, Stu Madison recognizes the importance of keeping busy and giving back to the community. He is an active member of several organizations including his local synagogue, professional organizations, and he currently serves as President of the Senior Men’s Association of Stamford, and Vice President of his condominium association.

Peter Ebstein’s technical career began with several positions with computer manufacturers, including Honeywell and Prime Computer, culminating as the Business Manager at Long Ridge School (LRS) where he served for 23 years. Peter says being the “help desk” for the faculty and staff at LRS made providing technical support at the Stamford Senior Center a natural fit.

“We are thrilled to honor these most deserving members who are shining examples of giving back to one’s community. We invite everyone to come out and enjoy an evening that celebrates the lives of seniors,” said Christina Crain, Stamford Senior Center Executive Director.
