LiveGirl + Hadley Pollet Showcase Female Talent at FemPowered Benefit in New Canaan

New Canaan based nonprofit LiveGirl and internationally renowned fashion designer Hadley Pollet hosted an inspiring FemPowered benefit at the Carriage Barn Arts Center. The event, with food prepared by Simply Delicious & event planning by Events by Megan Rose, brought together 150 people in support of LiveGirl’s year-round female youth leadership programs and summer camp scholarships.

Event attendees were inspired by a Hadley Pollet fashion show, which featured a preview of Hadley Pollet’s 2019 designs modeled by Women Who Inspire on the runway. These local celebrities included NY Times bestselling authors Lauren Weisberger and Sara Bliss (and her daughter), VP Editor-in-Chief Simon & Schuster Marysue Rucci (and her daughter), Afro Flow Yoga® Instructor Pilin Anice (and her daughter), Queen of Diamonds race car driver Sarah Edwards, Founder of Love Design Studio Kremena Doust (and her daughter), and Founder + CEO of Early Lingo Caryn Antonini. The event also included a diverse expression of female talent, including singers Victoria Iparraguirre and Hope In Harmony, spoken word artist Lytasha Blackwell, and artwork that celebrated “the powerful essence of the feminine.”

LiveGirl, founded in 2014 by New Canaan resident Sheri West, provides year-round leadership development and mentoring to girls in Fairfield County. “This event demonstrates the power of our community’s determination to uplift our girls and position them to reach their potential,” says West. “This event will allow us to reach more girls in Fairfield County and provide more camp scholarships. Showcasing the diverse array of female talents was the perfect way to celebrate our work.”

“Giving back to the community that you grew up in is critical in today’s world. Our brand’s mission has always gone beyond making products to bringing power to women worldwide -- whether it be through supporting nonprofits like LiveGirl, or working with female artisans around the world to create economic independence for women and children,” says New Canaan native, Hadley Pollet. “The amazing work that LiveGirl is doing sets a strong foundation for future leaders and we are honored to be a part of LiveGirl’s mission to create change.”

Carriage Barn Arts Center Executive Director Hilary Wittman said, “The Carriage Barn Arts Center was honored to collaborate with LiveGirl.  Regional artists of all ages were eager to support the cause and showcase their artwork.”

LiveGirl would like to thank their generous event sponsors, including Healing Home Foods, Jul' Salon, Salon KiKlo, Franco’s Wine Merchants, Palladino & Son Septic Co, STRONG Magazine for Girls, and Walter Stewart's Market.
