Highlight: An Exhibition of Art from Students Around the World, On View in New Canaan Library's Curtis Gallery

New Canaan Library invites all to view the considerable skill and unique perspectives of young people around the world with the upcoming exhibition 'Highlights," from Creative Connections, an international cultural education organization. The opening reception on Thursday, June 21 from 6 - 8 p.m. will include a presentation by Creative Connections, beginning at 6:30 p.m.. All are welcome to attend. "Highlight" will be on exhibit through August 4, 2018.

Founded in 1992, Creative Connections educates young people by encouraging their awareness, understanding, and appreciation of other cultures, as well as their own. Arts-based exchanges between classrooms in the United States and peers around the world (Art Link) use visual and performing arts, along with videoconferencing and social media technology, to teach global competency.

Each year a theme is chosen for those participating in the Art Link classrooms. This year's theme, "Highlight," prompted students to create artwork that reflects moments or experiences in their daily life that stood out, or were especially important to them.
