New Canaan Library Offers Tree Identification Walking Tour, Led by Naturalist Katherine Wagner-Reiss

Connecticut has an abundance of trees of all species, but most of us are unaware of the names and classifications. Join naturalist Katherine Wagner-Reiss on Thursday, June 14 at 6:15 p.m. as she leads a group on an informative and fun tree identification walk. Due to the nature of the program, registration is limited to 25 individuals. The tour will require participants to be standing and walking for a full hour, and is recommended for those 12 years of age or older. Participants will meet in the Curtis Gallery at 6:15 to begin the tour. Please register online at newcanaanlibrary.org.

Katherine Wagner-Reiss will compare the native and non-native trees that are planted around New Canaan Library and adjacent streets. The event will also give information on what trees one might want to plant at their homes to help birds, butterflies, insects and ultimately, humans to flourish.
