The New Canaan Historical Society’s biennial Modern House Day Tour is Saturday, October 20, 2018, from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The 2018 symposium explores selected houses by architects Sean Godsell, Gō Hasegawa, and Nader Terhani, examining their approach to modernist fundamentals of structure, material, space, natural light, and topography.
THE DAY’S EVENTS INCLUDE:
A morning symposium: “Crafted House: The Fusion of Artistry and Technology” moderated by Nader Tehrani, Dean, Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture, The Cooper Union with panelists Sean Anderson, MoMA Associate Curator, Department of Architecture and Design; Australian architect Sean Godsell; and Japanese architect Gō Hasegawa
An afternoon tour of four Modern houses in New Canaan
Lunch at the New Canaan Historical Society with an opportunity to view an exhibit of work by photographer Pedro Guerrero
A cocktail reception with the panelists, donors, homeowners and attendees. Tickets are limited.
