Want to know more about the portfolio process of applying to and attending an art school?
This presentation will give you suggestions for building a strong portfolio for any school. There will be sample portfolios and there will be a series of exercises to build the strongest portfolio with the students. This is perfect for juniors and seniors in honors, advanced, or AP classes who wish to pursue an education in art and design and want to explore art schools and art programs. The event is a unique opportunity to meet individually with a professional who can provide valuable feedback and guidance on your portfolio of work (i.e.: artwork, sketches, designs and creative materials) additionally, you will have the chance to discuss the specific school’s programs and get answers to questions about professional careers in art and design.
High school students, parents, teachers, guidance counselors and college transfer students are encouraged to attend.

The last hour, Shannon will review have time to review ten student’s portfolios. This is an opportunity to share your portfolio with one of the leading representatives from an art university. This program affords high school students with a unique opportunity to personally interact with a representative of leading art programs while deepening their understanding of what is required in an art portfolio.
Since the review is limited to just 10 students, we require preregistration. Sorry, we can only take the first ten registrations. We will be taking a wait list. Each student will have 10 to 15 minutes for their review. Your portfolio should no more than 20 pieces of your best and most recent work, but it can also include works in progress, sketchbooks and tear sheets. Please feel free to bring your computer.
