I Remember Better When I Paint: Free Documentary Screening at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in New Canaan

St. Mark’s Episcopal Church will screen I Remember Better When I Paint on Friday, November 1 at 6:30PM in Morrill Hall. The screening is free and all are welcome to attend. Light refreshments will be served.

Released in 2009, the film was selected for the 2015 Flagler Film Festival, the 2010 Rhode Island International Film Festival, and the 2009 Bel Air Film Festival. I Remember Better When I Paint is about the positive impact of making art for people with Alzheimer’s and is narrated by actress Olivia de Havilland.

The film, co-directed by Eric Ellena and Berna Huebner, features Huebner’s mother, noted Chicago artist Hilda Goldblatt Gorenstein, as she begins to awaken through painting amid her struggle with Alzheimer’s.

It will be followed by a Q&A with the film’s co-director, Berna Heubner, and St. Mark’s Director of Music Ministry, Ned Tipton, who was the film’s music advisor.
