Managing Family Dynamics During COVID-19: A Roundtable Discussion

Join New Cannan-based organization VOICES on Thursday, June 11th at 8:00pm EST, for an informative roundtable discussion, “Managing Family Dynamics During COVID-19,” with our guests Dr. Suzanne Phillips and Dr. Craig Haen, Co-chairs of the American Group Psychotherapy Association’s Community Outreach team.

This program is part of VOICES COVID-19 Response Program. The discussion will be moderated by VOICES Executive Director, Mary Fetchet, LCSW.

Social-distancing, due to the pandemic, has impacted relationships with grandparents, partners, children of all ages, and peers. It has changed the social dynamics within the family unit and beyond, often creating isolation and uncertainty.

This webinar will focus on managing family dynamics during uncertain times and build upon topics that were covered by Dr. Phillips and Dr. Haen prior presentation, “Coping with COVID-19 with Echoes of 9/11: Pain and Possibilities”.

The roundtable discussion will explore how to navigate interpersonal relationships in the “here and now,” as families begin to emerge from sheltering in place. This panel discussion will explore topics such as:

  • Couples navigating new dynamics in their partnerships
  • Parents talking to their children of all ages about risks related to COVID-19
  • Integrating aging parents/grandparents into family life, while also keeping them safe
The webinar is free and open to the public. Registrants are encouraged to submit questions in advance. Space is limited and registration is required.
