New Canaan Library Webinar from Yale Science Communication: A Gut Feeling - Microbes and Their Outsized Impact

Yale Science Communication returns to New Canaan Library, presenting a live webinar in which they explore the nature of microbes. Join the discussion on Thursday, September 17 at 7 PM EST. Zoom sign in information will be provided upon registration; please register at newcanaanibrary.org.

Within each of us, there is an entire world of bacteria and other microorganisms, the consequences of which we are only now beginning to understand. Yale Science Communication speakers Harini Sadeeshkumar, Amy Ontai and Milind Singh will discuss several related topics, asking such questions as, Do microbes make the best flavorings? Do we have free will, or are we just controlled by the microbes that live inside of us? In this talk, Yale Science Communication will discuss some of the ways these microbes impact our daily lives and may lead to new breakthroughs, from the food we eat to potential brain-altering effects.

Yale Science Communication - a Graduate Student Organization is a group of graduate students and postdocs passionate about science communication, education, and advocacy. YSC (formerly Yale Science Diplomats) began in 2007, when a group of graduate students founded a “Scientists and Engineers of America” (SEA) chapter at Yale, which has since become the Yale Science Communication.
