Ridgefield's Virtual Turkey Trot Kicks Off Tomorrow! Register Now and Support The Boys & Girls Club!

Editor's note: Did you know? Your donation equivalent to a race entry fee ($35) will immediately provide a week of after-school childcare for a Club member whose family needs financial assistance.
It wouldn't be Thanksgiving in Ridgefield without the Boys & Girls Club's Turkey Trot! Register now for the 39th Annual Turkey Trot - our first virtual race kicks-off tomorrow morning and you don't want to miss it! Plus, the first 300 people to register will receive this awesome neck gaiter - perfect for running and staying safe, and a great keepsake for 2020!

We know it won't be the same, but by moving the Turkey Trot to a Virtual Format you can run anywhere you choose, (literally anywhere in the world you are celebrating Thanksgiving!), within the time frame, as long as it equals 5k (3.1 miles)! All Turkey Trotters will be able to race and record their running time from Saturday, November 21st at 8am through Thanksgiving evening, Thursday, November 26th at Noon 12pm. Race results will then be posted on our website (www.bgcridgefield.org), our social media pages, and on Ridgefield's HamletHub, our Turkey Trot Media Sponsor.

We can't wait to see where our favorite Turkey Trotters are running from this year! For those that like to run the traditional Turkey Trot route, we will have the race route marked for you and the Turkey Trot map on display in our parking lot. Of course, if we see you out there running we will cheer you on!!

The Turkey Trot and the financial support it creates for the Club has never been more important, in fact, the impact will be greater than ever. This year, all funds raised will immediately provide services for the most vulnerable children in our town. Children in crisis, without family guidance, with disrupted home lives, in foster care, and suffering economic hardship, all of which has been intensified due to COVID-19. With your annual support of the Turkey Trot, you help to ensure that their needs do not go unmet.

We understand that the virtual format is not for everyone, but we hope you will still consider supporting the Club by donating the amount of your entry fee, or perhaps even a little bit more given the necessity of the Club's services this year. Thank you in advance for your support, this has been an incredibly tough year financially for us at the Club, and we truly couldn't do it without our Club community.

If you have any questions regarding registration, please feel free to contact Gerry Hawaux at 203-438-8821 ext. 16, ghawaux@bgcridgefield.org during regular business hours, we are happy to assist you!
