New Canaan's 40th Annual Family Fourth Fireworks Celebration on July 3 at Waveny Park

The 2021 New Canaan Family Fourth Committee invites all New Canaan residents (and their guests) to the 40th Annual Fireworks Celebration on Saturday, July 3rd at Waveny Park. The Family Fourth Celebration is funded entirely by the sale of passes and additional donations.

Passes are required for all attendees by car or walk-ins and can be purchased for $35 per New Canaan family (proof of residency will be required at time of purchase).  Passes may be purchased online until June 25th by clicking here or in person at the following locations thru July 2nd: 1) Recreation Department Office at Waveny House, 2) Town Clerk Office in Town Hall, and 3) Walter Stewart’s Market.  Passes purchased online will be mailed to the resident’s address.

The event will begin at 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 3, 2021.  Due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, the sale of passes is restricted to New Canaan residents (and their guests) only.  All cars must enter through either the South Avenue entrance to Waveny Park or the High School entrance on Farm Road.  The Lapham Road entrances to the park will be closed to all traffic.  Entry passes must be displayed on the driver’s side dashboard and visible through the window.  NO PASS – NO ENTRY – NO EXCEPTIONS.  Pedestrians with passes should enter the park from the High School parking lot entrance ONLY. Parking is not permitted on the roads adjacent to Waveny Park or at Saxe Middle School.

Activities will include family picnicking (no barbeque grills allowed).  The Family Fourth Committee with the Exchange Club of New Canaan will be selling ice cream, soda and bottled water and several food trucks will be serving a variety of foods. Live music will include “Mind the Gap” from 5:30-7:15 p.m., and the Town Band from 7:30-9:15 p.m.  A spectacular fireworks display to start soon thereafter.

REMINDER: Dogs, drones, personal fireworks (including sparklers), candles and grills are not allowed at the Family Fourth.
