Saldana Bravo Argentine Guitar Duo at the MAC, Milford

Silvana Saldaña and Javier Bravo, renowned Argentine Classical Guitar Duo, are back at the MAC, performing works by contemporary Argentine composers as well as some classical pieces. They have performed as a duo and as soloists in major halls of Argentina, USA, and all over the world.

12th Annual Juried Member Show at The Ridgefield Guild of Artists

Saturday, May 21, 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm 

The community is invited to an opening reception for a Member exhibition juried by Lisa Cooper of Elisa Contemporary Fine Art Gallery. The reception is outside, and the show is in person and online.

50’s Dance Party at Downtown Cabaret Theatre, Bridgeport

Saturday, May 21, 5:00 pm

Bop over to Bridgeport for John Mueller’s 50’s Dance Party, the official live and authentic re-creation of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper’s final tour and the only show endorsed by the Holly, Valens and Richardson estates. Over two hours of unbridled, high voltage entertainment, featuring all the hit songs of the 50’s era: “That’ll Be The Day”, “Peggy Sue”, “Oh, Boy”, “Rave on”, “La Bamba”, “Chantilly Lace”, and many more.

“This Is The Moment: MTC’s 35th Anniversary Gala” at Music Theatre of CT, Norwalk

MTC celebrates the conclusion of its 35th Season with this celebratory night featuring performances by actors seen on the MTC stage, singing audience-favorite songs. Food will also be provided by MTC restaurant sponsor, Black Rock Social House, accompanied by an open bar and live auction. 

Camille Thurman with the Darrell Green Quartet at Music at MoCA Westport

As part of their “Jazz at Lincoln Center Emerging Artist Series,” MoCA Westport brings you Camille Thurman, an emerging jazz artist and composer who is quickly becoming one of the standard bearers for the form, making a considerable and dynamic contribution to the legacy of jazz while paying tribute to its heroes. She is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and interpreter of the jazz tradition. Purchase food and drinks, and explore the Punk Is Coming exhibition too!

Verdi’s Requiem at Norwalk City Hall

Come and experience one of the most emotionally intense musical compositions of all time, performed in its entirety by four soloists, a double choir, and the Norwalk Symphony Orchestra.  

40th Annual Bruce Museum Outdoor Crafts Festival at The Bruce Museum, Greenwich

Saturday and Sunday, May 21 & 22, 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Featuring work by some of the best artists and craftspeople from around the country, this is a festival not to be missed. Admission is “Pay as You Wish” with a suggested donation of $10 per adult. All artists are present throughout each entire weekend and all works are for sale.

Open Studios at Metro Art Studios, Bridgeport

Sunday, May 22, 12:00-4:00 pm

The May Open House at Metro includes opening receptions for two new exhibits: “Everyone Has Feelings” by abstract artist, Charles Douthat and “Vanished” by photographers Penrhyn Cook, Rod Cook, and Gar Waterman. Stroll through these exhibits plus three floors of working artists in a beautifully renovated corset factory. This place is magical!

Gini Frank Fischer at The Wilton Playshop

Sunday, May 22, 2:00-5:00 pm

Gini Frank Fischer launches her first picture book about putting on a musical at a small, hard-working theater. Cast members of Wiremill Academy’s upcoming "Into the Woods, Jr" will sing "Children Will Listen," there will be a light reception, an informal author Q and A, and a book signing will follow. Each ticket includes a signed, hardcover copy of the limited first printing of the book.

On the Trail Folk Series at Ridgefield Library

Sunday, May 22, 2:00 pm

This modern acoustic quartet explores music from bluegrass to contemporary pop, from stunning instrumentals to beautiful traditional songs. The band has gained recognition and praise for their exploration and strong execution of the challenging music, as well as for their new original music. On The Trail features Austin Scelzo-fiddle and vocals, Tom Polizzi-mandolin and vocals, Chet Duke on Banjo, and Charlie Widmer-guitar and vocals.
