“Deck The Walls!” at the Carriage Barn Arts Center
Annual holiday exhibit & fundraiser November 27 - December 10

NEW CANAAN, CT, November 20, 2022 – Catch the holiday spirit at the Carriage Barn Art Center’s annual Deck The Walls exhibit and fundraiser.  In addition to the exhibit of small works and artisan made items all priced at $250 or less, over 40 spectacular and one-of-a-kind wreaths will be on display and available to buy or bid on.  The exhibit runs from November 27 - December 10 and lead sponsors include M&T Bank and Team Saxe + Bryan of Compass.

Deck The Walls opens on ARTISTS SUNDAY, a nationwide art-shopping event the Sunday after Thanksgiving.  All are invited to the opening November 27 from 1-5pm to support local artists and creators by buying and giving ART during the holidays.  Admission is free and in addition to being among the first to shop and view the wreaths, visitors will enjoy refreshments, artist demonstrations and a Scout & Cellar wine tasting from 3-5pm.

"There is nothing more personal than the gift of art," says Hilary Wittmann, Executive Director of the Carriage Barn Arts Center.  "Give something special, unique, and handcrafted this holiday season and support local artists and the local economy."

The Carriage Barn's annual wreath auction and fundraiser has become one of New Canaan's most festive holiday traditions.  Made by local designers, artists and organizations, they include themed designs, traditionally decorated greens and wreaths made from unconventional or vintage materials.  Donors include The Glass House Design Store, New Canaan Youth Football, Trovare Home & Design, Bloomcraft, Krista Fox Interiors, Caffeine & Carburetors, Earth Garden, Boucher Community Ice Rink, New Canaan Mounted Troop, Vine Floral and many more.  Bids can be placed online through December 3 at Noon.

The Carriage Barn's annual holiday party on Thursday December 1 will have a new twist this year.  In addition to cocktails, live music and festive bites by Rosie, several celebrated artists have donated work for an “Off the Wall” art grab.  Guests who buy a patron or supporter level ticket may select a piece "off the wall" to take home for the holidays!  Artist donors include Platon, Cyntha MacCallom, Hans Neleman, Connie Brown, Marjorie Tomchuk, Kristin Pierce, Aurelio Saiz and many others.  See details and buy tickets for the "Off The Wall" Art Benefit and holiday party at carriagebarn.org
