Sounds from the Heart, Strings: Norwalk Symphony Orchestra's (Not) Just for Kids Introduces String Instruments at New Canaan Library

New Canaan Library is pleased to welcome back the Norwalk Symphony Orchestra and its (Not) Just for Kids music program, which introduces children and their families to the joy of different instruments and music. Join them on Saturday, February 3 from 1 - 2 pm in the Curtis Gallery for a presentation that highlights the beauty of string instruments. Please register online at newcanaanlibrary.org.

Children (age 5 and older) and their families are invited to learn about and have hands-on time with the different instruments from the String family. Participants will hear the different sounds each instrument makes and enjoy listening to selections from the orchestra's February 10th “Night Of Romance” Broadway Love Songs Concert, including songs from the Great American Songbook by Gershwin, Hammerstein, Bernstein, and Sondheim.  Afterward, children can explore the different string instruments and try them out. The program is generously sponsored by the New Canaan Community Foundation in partnership with New Canaan Library and the Norwalk Symphony Orchestra.
