High Heat and Humidity Through the 4th of July

NOAA has issued an Excessive Heat Watch for today, Monday, July 2.

Watch area includes the Lower Hudson Valley, northeast New Jersey, NYC, interior southwest Connecticut.

Excessive Heat Watch means the heat index will reach 100-105 degrees. 


Dangerous heat and humidity today for northeast New Jersey and Lower Hudson Valley.

 Heat index values of 95 to as much as 105 during the peak of the heat today for much of the Tri-State except eastern Long Island and southeast Connecticut.

 Prolonged period of heat index values of at least 95 expected through the 4th of July. Heat related illnesses possible through this time period, especially for at-risk populations such as the elderly, very young, and those with mental illnesses.
