Town of New Canaan Launches New Website

On June 17, the Town of New Canaan launched a new website at www.newcanaan.info.

The new site has a fresh and modern new look and will enable our town government to better communicate with the public and will expand online features that allow residents to easily complete transactions online.

The new platform’s responsive design allows its features to easily adapt to mobile phones. The new site features an improved layout and simplified navigation. It also contains expanded content and capabilities, such as links to the New Canaan Chamber of Commerce’s new ExploreNewCanaan.com website and the New Canaan Board of Realtors new LiveNewCanaan.org website, and the ability to sign up for automated communications from Town departments through e-Notify.

“We are excited to be able to deliver a great new web design with robust online features at a very low cost. I think our residents will appreciate several new online features and an expanded amount of information that the website offers,” said First Selectman Kevin Moynihan.

“The new website was developed by a team of 10 employees under the direction of IT Department head Chris Kaiser and IT Department webmaster Sal DeLucia. All departments pitched in to update their content and look at ways to improve communications with our residents. Our new Technology Advisory Committee also provided valuable advice and guidance to the website team.”

The new website has been in development for six months, replacing a website that had been in service since 2005. The website is hosted by Revize Software Systems (based in Troy, Michigan), a market leader in municipal websites.
