Tropical Storm ISAIAS Expected to Bring Sustained Winds of 50-60 MPH to New Canaan

This evening, Monday, August 3, New Canaan First Selectman Kevin Moynihan provided the community with a local update about Tropical Storm ISAIAS.
 
The CT Department of Emergency Management at this time is forecasting that ISAIAS will arrive West of Fairfield County with sustained winds of 50 – 60 MPH around 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon and will continue until about 9:00 p.m. Tuesday. ISAIAS’s path will determine our local rainfall and wind speeds.
 
We are monitoring local conditions and preparing our local response and all of our first responders are on standby.
Your family should prepare for power outages and road closures on Tuesday night and possibly into Wednesday morning.
 
In case you have an emergency please call 9-1-1 and report your emergency; for non-emergencies please call the Police Department at 594-3500. If you would like to speak to the Emergency Operations Center, call 594-4100.
 
To report a power outage please call EVERSOURCE directly at 800-286-2000 as Eversource maps and responds to outages based on your phone calls.
