Stuck for summer things to do? Rock Paper Scissors Custom Events founded in 2018 by Rachel Lampen and Kristen Mitrakis of New Canaan create and host custom trivia games and design fun, seasonal, self-guided scavenger hunts for towns across Connecticut and parts of New York. Passionate about giving back and community spirit, Rock Paper Scissors designates a nominated non-profit as beneficiary for each hunt.
Their new Connecticut routes embrace the beautiful New England summer. Towns include Meriden (helping The Cove Center for grieving Children), New Canaan (helping Carriage Barn Arts), Westport (helping Domestic Violence Crisis Center of CT), and Stamford (helping buildOn).
Available to drive at any time from now through September, you simply download the map and clue sheet from their website and drive it at a date and time of your choosing. Costing only $15 per car, $5 will go to the named charity. Each drive takes as little as 45 minutes and as long as you like.
Mitrakis says: "This is a really enjoyable hour, half-day or day out. Best friends have done it, parents with teens have had a blast, residents have discovered places they never knew existed and visitors get to explore new towns. We recommend taking a picnic or stopping off to enjoy lunch or at the very least an ice cream."
For those who successfully complete the hunt and solve the riddle, you can send your picture to appear on the ‘Wall of Fame’ where a monthly prize draw will be held.
