The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) announced that a new schedule will take effect on Sunday, August 29, on the Metro-North New Haven Line, including restoration of New Canaan Branch Line express trains to Grand Central Terminal (GCT).
New Haven Line customers will see an increase in weekday train service to approximately 82% of pre-pandemic levels, an increase of about 40 trains, bringing the total number of weekday trains to 246 trains. Weekend train service will return to pre-pandemic service levels. Weekday express service to GCT on the New Canaan Branch Line will resume with six through trains southbound to GCT and five through trains northbound to New Canaan.
All rail customers are encouraged to pre-purchase their tickets before boarding using Ticket Vending Machines, the CTrail eTix mobile app for connecting Metro-North New Haven Line, or the MTA eTix mobile app. The CTrail eTix mobile app now accepts Apple and Google Pay.
The updated New Haven Line train schedule is available at www.mta.info/mnr. Customers are encouraged to check the schedules and status of service before they travel.
