New Canaan Museum & Historical Society celebrates architecture, art, design and community: October4design

October4design is New Canaan's month-long celebration of architecture, art, design and the community where it happens.

Organized by the New Canaan Museum & Historical Society, New Canaan’s diverse creative community will open its doors to offer a peek into what gives this town its distinct character.

While the COVID pandemic required the Museum to pivot and create a line-up of virtual programs for 2020, October4design 2021 includes a robust calendar of events!

We kick off the month with an intimate look at the life and work of Landis Gores and Lunch4design with ceramicist Frances Palmer. Architectural and design offerings include lectures by Sean Godsell, Nina Anker, Fred Noyes, Robert Gregson and Mark Markiewicz. In addition, there will be an architectural safari tour for students, musical concerts, kid’s programs, receptions, tours and more.

The month culminates in the museum’s signature  Modern House Day Tour + Symposium on October 22 + 23, 2021.
