Before/After-School Enrichment Programs at East, West, and South Schools Link
The 8-week fall session of enrichment classes held at the schools has a registration period of August 30-September 7. All registration is done through the Recreation Office and classes will begin the week of September 17. Many-many Math, Science, Cooking, Sports, Chess, Hobbies, Clubs, Reading, Computer Coding, and more.
Youth Soccer Link a long-time New Canaan tradition for kids open for grades K-6 and begins on September 15. If you have forgotten to register, please contact the Recreation Office to see if we can fit you on a team.
Tennis Instruction Link at the Mead Tennis Courts coordinated by Shane O'Reilly and his staff. Saturday classes for seven weeks begins September 8. Instruction for ages 4-12. Instruction is geared to the level of the class enrolled.
Golf Instruction Link four- Saturday morning classes at the Waveny Golf area. We have loaner clubs for those picking up the sport for the first time. This is a great place to start.
Youth Guitar Lessons Link on Thursdays after-school. We will have both a beginner class and an intermediate class for grades 3-8. This is an 8-week class and guitars are made available at no extra charge for the participants or bring your own.
Field Hockey for Girls Link for grades 1-4 Saturday mornings this fall. We have loaner sticks for you to use. A great introduction to the sport.
Paddle Tennis Instruction Link a 4-week program for boys and girls in grades 3-4 on Wednesdays; or grades 5-8 all-boys/all-girls on Mondays beginning in October at the Waveny Paddle Courts.
Girl's NCFFL Flag Football Link new Saturday program for girls in grades 2-4
Karate- Jedi Style Link for grades 1-4 on Mondays at the New Canaan Institute for Martial Arts. 8-week program this fall
Self-Defense for Middle and High School Students... Optional Link a 4-week program for High School students on Mondays and Middle School students on Wednesdays beginning in mid-September.
Boy's Basketball Link for grades 5-7 to be held at the Grace Farms facility on Tuesdays beginning October 2. The program is FREE
Special Events
Pumpkin Painting Party (October 15) Link ages 4-10 at Waveny House 4:00-5:00 pm. Pumpkins, paints, supplies all provided along with refreshments.
Halloween Family Witches Ball (October 19) Link a family event at Waveny House 6:00-8:00 pm. Disc Jockey, games, dancing, food, door prizes.

Ladies Professional Paddle Tennis Instruction Link a very popular weekday morning program at the Waveny Paddle Courts to begin on September 25
Sunday Beginner & Intermediate Paddle Tennis Instruction.Link Women's Clinic- 2:00; Co-Ed Beginner Clinic- 3:00; Co-Ed Intermediate Clinic- 4:00. This 5-week program will put a paddle racket in your hand and have you playing and enjoying this winter sport.
Tennis Instruction Link Shane O'Reilly and staff on Monday or Wednesday mornings for 6-weeks this fall at the Mead Park Tennis Courts. Beginners- 10:00; Intermediate- 11:00. Advanced class on Monday at 12:30
