Students from St. Luke's School in New Canaan Attend Broadway's EVITA

M&T Bank sponsored School Outreach Performance of EVITA at ACT of CT, a sold-out, smash success!

ACT of Connecticut hosted an enthusiastic, sold-out crowd for their M&T Bank sponsored School Outreach Performance of Evita on Thursday, October 25th. “Because of the generosity of M&T Bank, we were able to offer the youth of our community and their parents a wonderful opportunity to see Evita for 50% off the regular ticket price. We absolutely loved the buzz and excitement at the theatre on Thursday night and we thank M&T for their tremendous support!” said Katie Diamond, ACT’s Executive Director and Co-Founder.

Audience members included students and parents from Farmingville Elementary, Barlow Mountain Elementary, Ridgebury Elementary, Ridgefield High School Theatre Boosters Club, Wooster School, Ridgefield Academy, St. Luke’s School, and two local chapters of the National Charity League. "We are very grateful for the support of M&T, which allowed us to better share what we are doing with students and parents in our community,” said Heather Hillman, ACT’s Director of Education.

Students received a study guide in advance of the performance and were treated to a talk-back with the actors following the performance. In his pre-show speech, ACT’s Artistic Director, Co-Founder, and Director of Evita, Daniel C. Levine said “We at ACT of Connecticut believe that kids should be exposed to professional theatre at a young age. Theatre inspires creativity, sparks interests, and is a great jumping off point for intelligent conversation.

Live theatre engages and excites in a way that television and film can’t.” We couldn’t agree more! For information on ACT’s next School Outreach Performance, as well as ACT educational programs, please email Heather Hillman at education@actofct.org.
