New Canaan Committed Toward Breaking Cycle of Domestic Violence

Yesterday, Monday, June 1, New Canaan First Selectman, Kevin J. Moynihan joined Dede Bartlett, the co-chair of the New Canaan Domestic Violence Partnership and High School Principal, Bill Egan in front of the high school to read a proclamation making New Canaan a zero-tolerance community and to continue to vigorously support those who are working towards breaking the cycle of domestic violence and to give priority to domestic and teen dating violence awareness education and intervention programs in our community.

Ms. Bartlett spoke about how this issue hurts millions of people throughout our county and offered the simple advice to be kind and to look out for one another as something that we can all do to make this situation better and make people feel safer.

This month, you will see purple pinwheels of awareness on the lawn of the Police Station.
