Town of New Canaan Reports 19 Positive Cases of COVID-19, Drive Thru Testing Tomorrow

Today, New Canaan Emergency Management Director Mike Handler reported that New Canaan currently has 19 confirmed positive cases and three residents who have passed away.

He said, "I want to caution everyone about relying too heavily on the data as we do not yet have confirmed results from our March 20th testing site. Likewise, results from tests conducted at local hospitals have been slow to return. What this means is that our confirmed case load could be under-reported. Everyone is reminded that we remain under strict social gathering restrictions and must maintain 6-feet social distancing at all times. Anyone with symptoms should consult their personal physician and must behave as if they have tested positive and quarantine themselves."

In an update to the community earlier this week, New Canaan Emergency Management Director Mike Handler announced that New Canaan’s next drive-thru testing will begin this Thursday, March 26th at 9:00 am.

Appointments and required prescriptions can be obtained by filling out the three forms at www.coronatestct.com. Additional testing is also available, by appointment only, at Norwalk, Stamford and Greenwich Hospitals.
