New Canaan has 55 COVID-19 cases, another community member dies

New Canaan Director of Emergency Management, Mike Handler reported tonight that New Canaan now has 55 confirmed positive cases; and sadly, we lost another dear member of our community, bringing our total loss of life to six.

Test results from New Canaan’s March 26th test site are still outstanding. It should come as no surprise that we have more than 200 volunteers working with our Human Services team. Between our volunteer/senior pairing program and our food pantry we are currently serving groceries to over 210 residents. Additionally, our outreach program makes regular contact with over 1,300 seniors. All of this is in addition to the great outreach work being done throughout our community by our not-for-profit and faith-based partners. This is why we call New Canaan home.

Covid-19 testing is available, by appointment only, at Norwalk, Stamford and Greenwich Hospitals. To obtain an appointment at any of these sites, you will need a prescription from your personal physician.
