As Governor Lamont announced last week, effective last Friday, March 19th, the next phase in vaccination eligibility opened for scheduling to individuals aged 45-54. This week’s clinics at Lapham Center are full with 750 scheduled for Wednesday and a second dose clinic for Thursday for those who received their first dose at Lapham. As the Health Department opens new clinic dates for next week, those who signed up for the Lapham clinics will be contacted regarding scheduling appointments.
All eligible age groups aged 45 and up who have not yet found a vaccination appointment are encouraged to sign up for the clinics at Lapham so that the Health Department has a current list. The voluntary COVID-19 vaccination sign-up form is here. You must be a New Canaan resident and have received an appointment from the Health Department for these clinics; no walk-ins are permitted.
The general public aged 45 and up may also register through VAMS here if you would like a vaccination appointment anywhere in CT.
Besides VAMS, eligible residents may also try one of the pharmacies on the CT Covid-19 Vaccine Pharmacy list that is posted in the red COVID-19 alert box on the town website. The closest area pharmacy is Walgreens in New Canaan on Pine Street. You can go to Walgreens’ website (www.walgreens.com) to find appointments that may be available in the area.
Testing
Our COVID-19 community testing with Waveny LifeCare will continue at Lapham Center three days a week. The link for Thursday 3/25, Saturday 3/27 and Tuesday 3/30 test dates is contained in the email version of this outcall or you can find it in the red COVID-19 alert box on our website (www.newcanaan.info).
