New Canaan Health Department Moderna Vaccine Clinic on Wednesday, April 21

New Canaan Health Department will be holding a Moderna vaccination clinic next Wednesday, April 21st at the Lapham Community Center for residents aged 18 and over.

The Moderna vaccine is a two-dose vaccine and you will receive 2nd dose appointments at your 1st dose appointment. (Please note that the Moderna vaccine has not been approved by the FDA for those under the age of 18; residents age 16 and 17 should seek vaccination clinics providing the Pfizer vaccine).

There are 600 appointment slots for this April 21st Moderna clinic. The SignUpGenius link to register for this clinic at Lapham Center is here.

If you receive an appointment on Sign Up Genius, you must bring with you 2 sets of completed VAMS forms to your appointment. The VAMS forms can be found on the SignUpGenius registration and also on the Town website (www.newcanaan.info) at the red COVID alert box.

The Health Department will continue holding weekly clinics at Lapham Center so if you are not able to register for the April 21st clinic there will be other weekly clinics. SignUpGenius registration links will be sent out weekly on Friday mornings via email only through our Everbridge emergency outcall system to register for the following weekly clinic at Lapham.

As a reminder, eligible New Canaan residents may also register through the State of CT VAMS system here for vaccination appointments elsewhere in Connecticut.

Besides VAMS, eligible persons may also seek appointments at one of the pharmacies on the CT Covid-19 Vaccine Pharmacy list that is posted in the red COVID-19 alert box on the town website.  (For 16 and 17 year olds who seek the Pfizer vaccine the closest area pharmacy is Walgreens in New Canaan on Pine Street which provides Pfizer.)  You can go to Walgreens’ website (www.walgreens.com) to find appointments that may be available in the area.

Eligible New Canaan residents may also register for vaccination appointments at Stamford Hospital.  For more information and to sign up directly with Stamford Hospital please visit COVID-19 Vaccination Information at Stamford Hospital’s website or call Stamford Hospital at 203-276-7300.

Finally, we remind everyone that we should all continue to maintain social distancing, wear masks when required, wash hands frequently, and minimize the number of close contacts in order to help control the spread of COVID 19 in our community.
