New Canaan Residents Can Now Apply for Transfer Station Permist on Town website

Residents of New Canaan are now able to apply for their 2021-2022 Transfer Station Permit through the Town of New Canaan website

To apply for a Transfer Station Permit, you may apply for the permit by clicking here or you may call 203-594-3701.

New permits must be in place effective Thursday, July 1, 2021.

The pricing will be the same as the current year:

  • $45.00 if you have a contract with an approved and registered trash hauler
  • $75.00 if you do not have a contract with an approved and registered trash hauler.

If you did not purchase a Transfer Station Permit that expires 6/30/2021:

  • You will need to provide a copy of your most recent car registration for the vehicles you are requesting a permit. The registration(s) are emailed to Transferstation@Newcanaanct.Gov.  Please list your last name in the subject line.
  •  If you request the $45.00 fee you will have to provide a copy of the most recent invoice from a trash hauler that is approved and registered with the Town Transfer Station and Health Departments.  The invoice copy should be emailed to Transferstation@Newcanaanct.Gov.

If you have purchased a Transfer Station Permit that expires 6/30/2021:

  • You will not have to provide a copy of your most recent car registration unless you have a different vehicle registered. If that is the case, you will need to provide a copy of the new vehicle registration with your permit application and email it to Transferstation@Newcanaanct.Gov.
  • If you request the $45.00 fee you will have to provide a copy of the most recent invoice from a trash hauler that is approved and registered with the Town Transfer Station and Health Departments. The invoice copy should be emailed toTransferstation@Newcanaanct.Gov.
