LiveGirl and Silver Hill Partner to Amplify Mental Health

New Canaan-based LiveGirl is excited to announce its partnership with Silver Hill to focus on and amplify mental health in 2022.

LiveGirl Founder and CEO Sheri West shared, “The pandemic has heightened the mental health crisis among young people, especially girls.” West continued, “70% of females report experiencing mental health concerns, and we are committed to doing all we can to support women and girls. The very nature of what we do, fostering connections and building self-esteem, facilitates positive mental health.”

Last year, LiveGirl launched She Cares, a free 1:1 mental health mentoring program. It also now incorporates mental health training as part of its regularly planned mentor professional development. Silver Hill experts lead training and advise on incorporating mental fitness into LiveGirl’s leadership development curriculum.

Susannah Lewis, Director of Community Relations at Silver Hill, said, “Especially during this time of unprecedented mental health challenges, Silver Hill is so pleased to be able to bring its clinical resources beyond the Hospital itself in support of programs that are working to meet those needs in the wider community.”

Dawn Kurth, LiveGirl Board member shared, “Right now, we are seeing mental health issues crop up everywhere. For example, a She Works internship mentor may find that the root cause of a young woman’s difficulty to focus at work is due to COVID hardships at home or worsening mental health.”
