Longtime resident Tucker Murphy, Administrative Officer for the Town of New Canaan, will receive the Women In Leadership Award from Boy Scouts of America Connecticut Yankee Council for generously giving her time, energy and talents for the betterment of our community.
The award recognizes women who exemplify the ideals of the Boy Scouts of America as expressed in the Scout Oath and Law.
Joining Murphy in receiving this award is Ridgefield resident Allison Stockel, Executive Director of The Ridgefield Playhouse.
Murphy and Stockel will be honored on June 15 at the Women in Leadership Luncheon which takes place at the Country Club of New Canaan.
According to Connecticut Yankee Council, “The Women In Leadership Lunch shines a bright light on the Connecticut Yankee Council-Boy Scouts of America’s mission to bring our premier youth development program to more girls and young women in our community.”
A resident of New Canaan for 34 years Tucker is very well known in New Canaan for her years of community service including her current position as Administrative Officer for the Town of New Canaan. During 2008-2020, Tucker was the Executive Director for the New Canaan Chamber of Commerce and completely rebuilt the organization, which now is a robust and vital partner to the local business community. Tucker has served as an elected official to the Town Council and is a member of the New Canaan Board of Education.
