New Canaan, Connecticut – Local Merrill Lynch Private Wealth Advisor and founder of the Hetherington Group, Brian Hetherington, has been named to Barron’s “Top 1,200 Financial Advisors” this year, ranking as the 4th top advisor in Connecticut.
Brian started his career at Merrill Lynch in 1986 at one of the firm’s largest offices in New York City. and is now the Managing Director of the Hetherington Group. He is also the founder of the Hetherington Group, where he leads his team of six professionals who share 90 years of combined experience in the financial advising industry. Brian and his team pride themselves on putting clients first and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with the individuals they work with at Merrill.
Brian is a Princeton University alumnus and resides in New Canaan with his wife and children. An active member in his community, Brian is a board member at the Xavier High School in Middletown, volunteers at the New Canaan YMCA, and participates in the annual cancer research fundraiser, Closer to Free Ride. In recognition of his professional and personal commitments, Brian was honored with the David Brady Award in 2020, distinguished after David Brady, a Merrill Lynch financial advisor. The latter was highly respected for putting his clients first and giving back to the community and passed away in the September 11th terrorist attacks.
