More than 200 Eversource customers in New Canaan are without power, message from Emergency Management Director Russ Kimes

This evening, Friday, February 3, Russ Kimes, Emergency Management Director for the Town of New Canaan informed the community that Eversource is reporting 225 outages in New Canaan.

"We do not have an estimated restoration time for any outages in town however we do know of at least four Eversource crews actively working in town making progress restoring power to customers. We are pushing them to send more resources to New Canaan," said Kimes.

Due to the extremely cold temperatures, if your power is out Kimes recommends shutting off the water in your home and opening the faucets to drain them to prevent frozen pipes.

If you do not have somewhere to stay and require overnight shelter, contact New Canaan Police at 203-594-3500 who will work with Emergency Management to find you overnight shelter. If you have an emergency dial 911.
