Draw Until You Drop on March 24 at Silvermine Arts Center

Drawing is one of the basics of an art education, and at the same time it is its own discipline—an art to be explored and refined over a lifetime. Silvermine’s School of Art annual Draw Until You Drop!  is designed for all ages and abilities, and is one of the most popular days of the year at Silvermine. This year’s all-day event takes place on Sat., Mar. 24 from 9am to 6pm.

Artists of all levels are invited to sessions of continuous, intensive figure drawing with models in sustained poses or short athletic poses. There are also pairs of models as well as still life set-ups offered both in the morning and afternoon. The sessions are open to the community and to Silvermine students and professional artists.

This enjoyable day begins with coffee and muffins and ends with a wine and cheese reception where participants may exhibit their artwork. The morning program runs from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, followed by a lunch break (bring your own) and an afternoon session from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm. The exhibit and end-of-the-day reception take place between 5:30 and 6:00 pm

Participants work alongside Silvermine faculty, Guild artist members, and students to develop their skills and artistic vision. Faculty members are available to offer guidance or answer questions. A full day is $30; a half day $15.  Registration in advance is encouraged, but artists may also register the day of the event. Walk-ins welcome. Tables, easels, drawing horses, drawing boards and basic drawing supplies will be available.
