200-hour, Yoga Alliance Teacher Certification to Be Offered at Award-Winning New Canaan Yoga Studio

New Canaan’s Sama Yoga was recently awarded a MINDBODY Visionary Award, given for business excellence in the wellness industry. The MINDBODY Visionary Award is given to businesses who have an average monthly revenue in the top 30% of all MINDBODY customers between January and June 2018. MIND BODY is the leading technology platform for the fitness, beauty and wellness industries.

“The MINDBODY Visionary Awards are our way of celebrating the businesses owners we serve, for both their success and for how they translate that into helping their communities live healthier, happier lives,” said Rick Stollmeyer, MINDBODY CEO and co-founder. “Connecting the world to wellness starts in our own backyards, and our honorees deserve to be recognized for their commitment and achievements.”

Sama Yoga has been in business for three years in New Canaan, and will offer their first ever Yoga Teacher Training Program beginning September 15. Registration is now open for the 200-hour, Yoga Alliance Certification program at samayogacenter.com

“We’re thrilled to be offering our first ever Teacher Training,” says Rebekah Jacobs, Sama Yoga’s owner and director. “We think it’s different from other programs. Sama’s Teacher Training is based on the roots of ancient, yogic, Indian tradition - my co-leader Angie Mandl was trained in India, the birthplace of yoga - and is accessible to everyone, all levels, all abilities.”

Sama Yoga’s new program is a certified Yoga Alliance® - 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher Training, but is not only for those looking to become teachers, Jacobs points out.

“Our program is designed as an in-depth study program to develop self awareness, confidence and life skills as well as preparation to teach what you’ve learned,” says Jacobs. “Offering this kind of program is something we’ve heard from our community that people want, and we’re responding. It’s a big undertaking, and we’re thrilled to be able to offer it right here in New Canaan.”

Graduates of the program will receive a certificate of completion and will be able to register as a Registered Yoga Teacher 200 – with the Yoga Alliance®. The program begins September 15 and will take place two weekends a month, from 12:30 - 5:30 pm, through May 5, 2019.
