You're IT New Canaan Acupuncture!

Three questions with Casey Potetz, founder and owner of New Canaan Acupuncture.

Why did you start your business?

I have known I wanted to practice acupuncture since I was twelve years old. I started my own business here in New Canaan because while I was visiting, I realized there was a need for an acupuncturist who specializes in the treatment of pain and inflammation. I knew that in order to help the most people in the most significant way, I had to take the leap and set up my own practice here.

Finish this sentence in regard to your business. “I wish I could…”

I wish I could educate all of New Canaan on my acupuncture services in order to better serve the people. Acupuncture can seem very abstract, but once people realize how it works and how it can help heal the body, it starts to feel very simple and very natural. This medicine is so beautiful and amazing. I want to let people know about it so I can help them transition out of pain.

How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

Well, my practice is located inside of Matrix Personalized Medicine, and I am privileged to work directly with Dr. Leibowitz.

Healthcare provides many of the products I use to treat my patients. I’ve collaborated with Pryority Wellness on acupuncture events, as well as Halo Fitness and The Roger Sherman Inn. I’ve also collaborated with Personal Training Professionals (PTP) and Theresa Hasselrot Physical Therapy. The Baldanzas have been supporters of my practice since the beginning, and Melinda Loo of Essential Bodywork and Wellness has been my business mentor, who I can attribute a lot of my early success in practice. The list goes on. I would say that I’ve been receiving A LOT of local business support. This town is full of amazing people. Feeling very grateful for that.
