Why Small Businesses Matter in New Canaan: Grounded Meditation

Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT Grounded Meditation!

Three questions with Diane Nickelberg-Barnett, owner of Grounded Meditation.

Why did you start your business?

I started Grounded Meditation because in this very fast-moving, super-connected world, we never just stop and stay present. And the rewards of learning to be present and at the moment-  through the practice of meditation - have been scientifically proven to be infinitely beneficial to mental and physical health and well-being. Most people have heard of the advantages of meditation but many know nothing about it; feel intimidated by the thought of it, or feel that they 'can't' sit still to meditate.  Grounded Meditation offers accessible, user-friendly meditation instruction that everybody can practice and enjoy.

Finish this sentence in regard to your business. "I wish I could..."
I wish I could get everybody in this community to come in and try meditation to find out for themselves how good it can be!
What is your best selling product/service?
People love our monthly Soundbaths. Participants lie down and relax for an hour to the soothing, healing sounds of crystal and Tibetan singing bowls, chimes, gongs, bells and more. It's truly the ultimate in relaxation and self-care!
