Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT story & soul photography!

Three questions with Michael Justin, founder of story & soul photography.

Why did you start your business?

I started the story & soul to continue photographing and preserving memories for clients of my wedding brand, Michael Justin Studios. Having been there at the start of their journey, I wanted to continue documenting other chapters of their story.

Finish this sentence in regard to your business. "I wish I could…"

Slowdown Time! I started my business back in 2010, and at that time, I've watched three of my children be born, and hundreds of clients grow their own families. When I look back at some of the photographs and films I've created, I realize how important my job is. I know I'll soon be longing for the days when the only thing my children wanted was a snuggle from mom and dad. And my photographs will be my doorway back in time.

What is your best selling product/service?

A family photo session with me! I believe one of my strongest assets as a photographer is my ability to connect with children and get genuine smiles and laughter out of them!
