Then join us here at the New Canaan Nature Center later this summer (date is set tentatively for August 8-9) for an evening full of fun and adventure by camping out in New Canaan’s favorite backyard!

A Virtual Lecture with David Sibley

Please join us for a virtual lecture with David Allen Sibley, author and illustrator of the series of successful guides to nature that bear his name, including The Sibley Guide to Birds. He has contributed to Smithsonian, Science, The Wilson Journal of Ornithology, Birding, BirdWatching, and North American Birds, and to The New York Times. He is the recipient of the Roger Tory Peterson Award for Lifetime Achievement from the American Birding Association and the Linnaean Society of New York’s Eisenmann Medal. He will be exclusively discussing his newest book, What it’s like to be a bird. You will also be able to purchase the book from our local book store, Elm Street Books.

Celebrate your birthday with the animal ambassadors of the New Canaan Nature Center! A Virtual Adventure Birthday party includes a visit with four animals of your choosing. You & your guests will have the opportunity to learn about what they eat, where they live, and what makes them so awesome!
Each program will be tailored to the audience's age and run approximately 45 minutes.
