You're IT, Rachel Walsh Homes!

Four questions with Rachel Walsh of Rachel Walsh Homes.

Why did you start your business?

I started selling real estate 25-years ago after seeing the low standard of agents at that time. I came from a business and hospitality background where service and anticipating needs were expected and were also gratifying. I had been looking for a new house myself and was disappointed in the lack of creativity my agent showed in trying to find me a home. In the end, I found the house myself through creative means and networking and realized that my hospitality and business background transpired perfectly to selling real estate in New Canaan and Darien.

What is your best-selling product/service?

Homes, of course, but also a service to my clients in a transparent, ethical, honorable, analytical, and creative manner.

How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

I completely believe in buying locally. I support Weed & Duryea for all house needs such as booties, paint, spackle, etc; Zumbach's Coffee, CT Sandwich, and Elm Restaurant because a full client is a happy client; Elm Street Books for beautiful cocktail books at listings; Franco's Wine and DB Fine Wines for client gifts; and so many more!

Have you "reimagined" your small business?

Compass Real Estate recently opened its doors in New Canaan at 111 Cherry Street. Our hope is to soon have guests come in for a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and talk about real estate which is everyone's favorite topic these days! By the nature of the business, we need to reimagine our way of doing business constantly to keep up with trends, buyer preferences, pricing, staging needs, etc. We were deemed 'essential workers' very early in the pandemic and were out conducting business in as safe a manner as we could. We protected our clients, their homes, and ourselves. We helped many people find new homes at a time when they were truly needed.
