Why Small Businesses Matter
Shop small, do big things for your community
Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!
You're IT R Berger & Company!
Three questions with Robin Berger, founder of R Berger & Company.
Why did you start your business?
I started my business because I was looking to exert more creativity in how business was conducted and who I served. I came from a very large corporate firm, which was great, but I wanted to make more of an impact in the local community, and have a purpose beyond profit.
What is your best-selling product/service?
We are a CPA firm and our main services are tax preparation/strategy, audits/reviews/compilations, and small business accounting. I have three people working with me and I must say we stand out in the level of service we deliver. So many people leave their accountants because they don’t feel attended to or prioritized. We pride ourselves on inattentive service. We take time with clients and offer more than the compliance of a tax return filing.
Have you "reimagined" your small business?
I am constantly reimagining the business structure and evolving to refine our services. I’d love to target the younger generations and offer financial literacy seminars. Get back to some basics so that kids are introduced to some key life skills earlier on.
